6 months

In 6 months Brantley went from this.....

to this........

18 lbs 6 oz- 67th percentile
27 inces - 71st percentile

He is such a fun little boy! He loves when people talk to him....or even look at him! He will flash them the biggest smile. He loves little kids.  On Sunday he was watching a little boy walk around and Brantley thought he was the funniest thing.  It was pretty darn cute!  Brantley eats baby food like a pro. He likes everything you give him.  He has gotten to the point where he tries to steal food off our plates.  Brantley now has 2 teeth and I think another one is trying to come through.  Teething wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be....but I'm not complaining! He is still a pro at rolling over on to his belly, just getting him to roll back over is the hard thing!  He will tolerate his stomach as long as he has something to entertain himself and if he isn't tired.  He can now sit up with no support for quite awhile.  It has been nice to give him another option other than laying down.  He can cruise around in a walker pretty well too, he really likes that!  I have a feeling once he starts crawling there will be no stopping him and he will be into everything.  He has grown so much this month and I have a feeling he will grow so much more this coming month!

5 months

I can't believe Brantley is 5 months old.  He is getting more personality and learning new things every day.  He loves eating and eats baby food like a pro.  He can go through about 2 jars of baby food a day.   Some days I can't get it in him fast enough.  He weighs between 17 and 18 lbs and can fit into 6 month clothing.  He can roll on to his stomach like a pro, and then gets frustrated because he can't make it back over to his back.  He is getting better at sitting up and supporting himself for a little bit.
He is still a social little boy.  He loves when people talk to him.  He will smile and talk back to them.  I think once he starts talking we won't be able to get him to be quiet.
He loves playing with his toys and has been able to control his hands a lot more the past month. It is so nice he is able to entertain himself a little more.
He loves to be outside and really enjoys going on walks.  He can now put himself to sleep for naps. When we were in Texas he figure out how to do that. (Speaking of Texas I really need to write a post about our trip) It makes nap time so much easier and isn't such a fight.  He usually takes 3 naps during the day.
We love our little boy and the joy he brings to our lives and the lives of those around us.

Needless to say he wasn't too fond of the grass.  We can't wait to see what the next month brings us!

Inch Worm

I guess you can say we have an inch worm on our hands.  Brantley has figured out if he rolls to his belly, burrows his head into the floor, and puts his butt in the air he can can move to objects that aren't in his reach.  I'm just glad he hasn't figured out how to get his arms and legs to work together :) He wasn't too happy with me while I was taking the pictures.  He isn't a huge fan of his belly, but I can't feel too bad about it when he rolls over onto it himself.

He loves this little taggie blanket.

Being on your belly is hard work

Success!

4 months!

Our little Brantley is 4 months old today.  These past 4 months have flown by, but at the same time it seems like I had him so long ago.  He had his 4 month appointment today and was a champ! He cooed and smiled at the doctor and only cried for a little bit with his shots.  Dr. Firth was impressed with his growth and said he is a health baby!  Brantley weighed 16 lbs 1 oz (75th percentile) and was 24 3/4inches long (45th percentile).  As you can see Brantley sure loves his food!  We started him on rice cereal last week and so far he seems to be enjoying it.  We were hoping it would get him to start sleeping through the night again.  It helped a little. Instead of waking up 2-3 times he only wakes up once.  Brantley has rolled over a few more times, but he mainly rolls from side to side holding his toes.  He is starting to master grabbing toys with his hands.  He is a pro at putting his hands in his mouth and gagging himself though!   This past month he has started to laugh and giggle more and not just when we tickle him.   He is a social little boy. He loves when people talk to him and will talk right back. We certainly love this little guy and the new adventure he brings to our family every day!
Waiting for his cereal

Enjoying some tummy time

Oh and in exactly one week we will be on our way to Texas! I can't wait!  It will definitely be an adventure and hopefully and enjoyable one!

3 Months and big news!

Our Mr. Brantley is 3 months old.  CRAZY!  He is growing and getting bigger each day.  The other day when I weighed him he was 14 1/2 lbs....so needless to say there is nothing little about him!  He is starting to be more content with life and not cry so much.  Although when he is tired he is tired and ready for sleep and you better not take your time putting him to sleep.  It seems like his acid reflux is doing better.  We haven't given him his medicine for about a week and there hasn't been a change in how he is acting.  Brantley loves interacting with people, especially little kids.  He will smile and watch any little kid that is around.  It doesn't take much for Brantley to start smiling when a little kid is in the room.  He will coo and smile at you as long as his stomach is full, diaper is dry, and isn't sleepy :) We have gotten a few giggles out of him and I can't wait for it to be a regular occurrence.  About a week ago he rolled over from his stomach to his back.  It surprised us thats for sure! He hasn't rolled over since then, but I have a feeling he will start rolling more any day now! He loves to have blankets up around his face and will try to snuggle down into the blanket while he is sleeping if there isn't one there already! I can't wait to see all of the new things he will learn this month!

And as for the big news I have a new job! I will be working for the Up to 3 program at Utah State University as a transition preschool teacher.  I have wanted to work for Up to 3 ever since I graduated and it finally happened! Through the summer I will be working 100% time and then once one of the teachers returns from maternity leave I will drop to 70% time.  It will be perfect for our little family.  I am so excited to be a preschool teacher!

4 Generation

On Saturday we went to Pocatello with Paul and Tina to celebrate Jared's grandpa's birthday.  While we were there we were able to get a 4 generation picture.  Thank goodness for modern technology and cell phones with cameras because I never have my camera with me!

And here are some more pictures for your viewing :)
