Wedding and County Fair

This past weekend we were able to take a few days and head down to Utah County for a wedding and to Moran for the county fair. On Friday we were able to attend Jared's cousin's wedding in the Mt. Timpanogos temple. It was a beautiful ceremony and it was great being able to see some of the family that lives in Texas. I love going back to the temple especially to sealings to remind me the promises I made on my wedding day almost 3 years ago.
On Saturday we spent the day at the Morgan County fair and helped put on the buyers dinner for everyone who supported the youth in the Livestock sale. (I'm really surprise Jared sticks around) We spent most of the day shucking corn, setting up tables, and serving food. It was good seeing people I haven't seen for a long time. It was great to be able to help with something that benefitted myself growing up and once I came to college. Later that night we went to the rodeo and spent the night visiting and enjoying ourselves.
While we were at my parents I went on a short walk and took a few pictures around my dad's ranch. Enjoy the pictures!

24th Weekend

Jared and I had a great 24th of July weekend and we were able to spend time will all of our family. On Friday we head down to my parents for the Sessions Reunion/baby shower for my sister-in-law Amy. We had a great time spending time with my family and hanging out with all of the nieces and nephews (they are all growing up way to fast!) It was great to spend sometime with Clark and Amy too because this will probably be the last time we see them before their little girl comes :). It was also a lot of fun playing with their puppy Murphy. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of him. I did take my camera and I intended to take pictures of everything, but I only got pictures of the grandkids horseback riding. Which they loved! They all loved it and some we couldn't get them off of the horse.

It was so much fun to watch my nieces and nephews enjoy themselves. And it was great to spend time on my dad's ranch!
Later on Saturday we headed up to Tremonton to enjoy dinner and watch dinner with Jared's family. And of course I didn't take pictures there (I really need to get better with the picture taking) It was great to spend time with his siblings, cousins, uncles, and aunts. Its a great tradition to spend this time together and enjoy the 24th of July.
On Sunday after church we headed up Logan Canyon and met up with our great friends Travis and Britney and there adorable little boy Chace. We enjoyed great company and great food Sunday night. Monday morning we packed up camp and headed to Bear Lake for the day. I have NEVER seen the lake that high and there wasn't much beach. We had a great day just relaxing and enjoying each others company.

We had a great weekend and are thankful for all of the wonderful family we have in our lives.

Texas Trip

We had a great trip to Texas in June. On the way there we drove through Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and finally Texas. We took a couple of days to get there and stopped in Miami, Oklahoma. One of Jared's areas on his mission. We met up with a good friend of Jared's and he showed us a great time. We went to Colman Theatre and toured that. We also took some time to take the 30 minute drive to Joplin, Missouri. The pictures I posted don't do the destruction justice. It was great to be able to see the part of the country that Jared spent 2 years of his life in. Once we made it to Texas we spent time with family, walking around Dallas, time at the reunion, Ranger game, and more time with family. It was nice to be able to just hang out and get to know that family better. We ate a ton of Whataburgers....enough to last us an entire year. Towards the end of the trip I did get sick and I was ready to be home. The drive home wasn't terrible. We went through Oklahoma, Kansas, Colorado, and Wyoming. We made it all the way to Laramie the first night, so the second day we only had to spend 6 hours in the car :) We had a great trip and we are hoping to make another trip down next year!

Route 66 right outside of Baxter Springs, the city Radiator Springs in Cars is based on

The hospital in Joplin Missouri

Looking across the path that the tornado took. It was about 6 miles long and 1 1/2 miles wide. Before the tornado you couldn't see across the city like this because of all the trees and buildings.

While we were in Dallas we walked around the city. This is a larger than life sculpture of a cattle drive

The the Rangers game....it wasn't too boring.

We had a great time in Texas. I really need to get better at taking pictures so I have more of them :)

Life Lately!

So we have had a fantastic summer so far! Our trip to Texas was great (a post to follow soon). We had a wonderful time and enjoyed 2 great weeks with family. We enjoyed the HOT weather, Rangers baseball game, good food, and sight seeing. Along with all the traveling came some not so wonderful car sickness which is partly due to the wonderful bundle of JOY that is inside of me :) Yep Jared and I are expecting and we couldn't be more excited. Our newest addition will be joining us sometime around January 20th. (yes I know right in the middle of basketball season ;)). Overall I have felt ok. Just a few days a week do I get sick...I am extremely excited for my 2nd trimester. Today we had our first appointment and was able to hear the baby's heartbeat. I am so excited for our next journey we will be experiencing!

Texas......

In one week we will be on our way to one of my favorite places.

We will be spending time with family and just soaking in the warmth.

We will be enjoying delicious whataburgers and fantastic BBQ.

It will be a great 2 week break from work. I am so excited I can't wait.

Also this coming week I will be wrapping up my first year of teaching. I am so excited to not be considered a first year teacher any more. I have learned so much this year and am looking forward to everything I will be learning next year.

What a great time of year it is and I can't wait to see what the rest of summer will bring us!

Graduation!

Yesterday Jared graduated from USU with an English B.S. with an emphasis in Technical and Professional Writing. I am so proud of him! He worked extremely hard and has learned many great skills. We had a wonderful day spent with family. My parents and brother along with his family were able to attend. Jared's parents and siblings were also able to attend. It was nice having them all there to congratulate Jared on this great accomplishment!

Jared waiting to receive his diploma.

Receiving his diploma...of course the one picture I get of this turned out blurry. Such is life I guess.

I am so proud of him!

Jared and his parents at my brother's after the graduation.

Jared will continue working at the Space Weather Center on campus as a full time employee. This will be a great opportunity for him to gain experience and get his name out there! Thank you to all of our family and friends who supported us through the years.

Life Lately

Well to say the least life has been pretty uneventful since we returned from Las Vegas. Work is going great for both of us. I love my job more and more every day. We are getting ready for transitions and getting a new set of students. Next year is going to be a great year....I can just feel it! As for Jared, once he graduates (yes he graduates in 2 weeks!) he will continue working for the Space Weather Center up on campus. He really enjoys working there and is excited to continue his employment there.
A few weeks ago was my spring break...oh the joys of being a teacher! I spent my days just hanging out in the cold Logan weather! For my birthday Jared got me a sewing machine. I have wanted one for a while and was extremely excited to get one. During my break I decided to make a quilt. For Christmas I made aprons for my in-laws and had a bunch of extra fabric let over. So I cut the fabric into squares and sewed them all together. This is what the top of my quilt will look like:

I have decided to attempt to hand quilt this. It may take me all summer, but I think it will be a great accomplishment if it happens! I have also tried a few different things with my sewing machine and I found a blog that taught me how to make fabric flowers.
The Friday my break started we got new carpet put in our downstairs, the stairs, and in the hallway up stairs. I love it! It makes our place feel like a brand new house!
It feels so nice to walk on and I can't wait to put new carpet in our bedrooms someday! I love having our own place we can paint and change. This summer I will probably be painting the bathrooms (since those are the only rooms with white walls in our place) What can I say I love color! So maybe our lives haven't been totally dull then! We love where we are at right now and can't wait to see what is in store for us next!

Oh and in less than two months we will be in TEXAS!!!! I can not wait! We have a summer full of adventure ahead of us!
