8 months

Mr. Brantley is 8 months old.  He is growing like crazy and I don't think he will slow down any time soon.  He weighs a little over 20 lbs.  He still loves his food.  He can feed himself finger foods and hold his own bottle.  He is still a social little boy and he loves just the slightest attention from anyone.  He will wave hi and bye to people....it is pretty darn cute.  Another new thing he has started is when you pick him up he will pat your back. I didn't think we did it that much, but I guess we do.  Brantley is trying to figure out the crawling thing.  He can get up on his hands and knees, but he doesn't quite know what to do after that.  He can army crawl to get to places, it just isn't very quick yet.  He still loves his bath time and loves laying down and splashing in the water.  He still just has six teeth, but we think he is working on his seventh.  This kid may have a full set of teeth by the time he is one!
We have a had an exciting month filled with the JDRF walk in memory of Logan, a wedding, football, and visiting family.  It has been a great month, and October will be just as fun!

7 months

Another month as come and gone and Brantley just keeps growing! August was a busy month for us.  September will even be a busier month, but that is part of life right?  Brantley is getting quite the little personality.  His laugh is so funny and it doesn't take much for him to laugh.  I just think he likes the attention.  He FINALLY figured out how to roll from his stomach to his back consistentley. Although there are still the times he gets on his belly and gets mad he just cries until we roll him back over.  He is getting closer to crawling.  He gets up on his knees, but doesn't push up with his arms at the same time. I think he is going to be into EVERYTHING once he starts crawling, but that is part of learning right?  He can feed himself cheerios like a pro.  I started giving him other finger foods this week and he has handled them pretty well.  He definitely loves his food and some days we can get it to him fast enough. He loves being in his walker and can make his way across the carpet now.  It is so nice he can entertain himself a little longer now! Brantley will wave  lift his arm up when saying hi or bye to people.  I'm pretty sure it is intentionally, but can't totally tell yet.  We are looking forward to another great month with this little guy!

Sporting his new ear muffs that reduce sound for Aggie sporting events.  We will be trying them out tonight at the first Aggie football game of the season.

This is what happens when I leave him by the diaper bag.  He was grabbing the cereal in hand fulls and shoving it in his mouth.  He was pretty proud of himself.

2....4....6....Teeth!

Brantley now has 6 teeth. You read that right 6! And the best or worst part is he got them all with in a month.  He has 2 on the bottom and 4 on the top.  Over all he handled it ok, but I am so glad it is over.  Hopefully he won't be teething again for a while!
This past weekend we had our Sessions family reunion.  On Friday we went to Morgan and swam at our family friend's house.   That night Jared and I took Brantley to the Davis County Rodeo. I had to keep reminding myself I was surrounded by a bunch of city slickers.  It was a pretty small rodeo.  Then on Saturday we went out to Erda and just visited with everyone.  That night we went to a Real Salt Lake game.  It was fun, other than Real lost in stoppage time.  Brantley handled it ok, and only freaked out a couple of times.  We are just getting him use to loud events since we will be dragging him to Aggie football and basketball games.
It was nice to spend some time with my family and just visit with everyone!

Back to School

Yes you read that right, for Jared that is.  After being graduated for a year Jared decided he missed school so much that he wanted to go back...or something like that!  He has decided to study Speech Language Pathology.  Right now he is taking undergrad courses online to complete requirements to get into the Master program.  If all works out he will start the Masters program at Utah State next summer.  It is just a two year program which won't be too bad to handle (at least for me). I am so proud of Jared for this step in life he has taken.  This summer he has worked full time and took 12 credit hours.  He has done very well in his classes and has been able to stay caught up on work.  He will continue to work full time until he starts the masters program. Hopefully at that time my work can bump me up to at least 75%.
Jared had to reapply to USU. Here is his acceptance letter.

And of course I have to mention Brantley in a post.  He is currently cutting his 4th tooth.  I hope it breaks through soon.  This poor kid has cut 3 teeth since July 20th, working on his 4th, and had to get his 6 month shots on top of all of that.

6 months

In 6 months Brantley went from this.....

to this........

18 lbs 6 oz- 67th percentile
27 inces - 71st percentile

He is such a fun little boy! He loves when people talk to him....or even look at him! He will flash them the biggest smile. He loves little kids.  On Sunday he was watching a little boy walk around and Brantley thought he was the funniest thing.  It was pretty darn cute!  Brantley eats baby food like a pro. He likes everything you give him.  He has gotten to the point where he tries to steal food off our plates.  Brantley now has 2 teeth and I think another one is trying to come through.  Teething wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be....but I'm not complaining! He is still a pro at rolling over on to his belly, just getting him to roll back over is the hard thing!  He will tolerate his stomach as long as he has something to entertain himself and if he isn't tired.  He can now sit up with no support for quite awhile.  It has been nice to give him another option other than laying down.  He can cruise around in a walker pretty well too, he really likes that!  I have a feeling once he starts crawling there will be no stopping him and he will be into everything.  He has grown so much this month and I have a feeling he will grow so much more this coming month!

5 months

I can't believe Brantley is 5 months old.  He is getting more personality and learning new things every day.  He loves eating and eats baby food like a pro.  He can go through about 2 jars of baby food a day.   Some days I can't get it in him fast enough.  He weighs between 17 and 18 lbs and can fit into 6 month clothing.  He can roll on to his stomach like a pro, and then gets frustrated because he can't make it back over to his back.  He is getting better at sitting up and supporting himself for a little bit.
He is still a social little boy.  He loves when people talk to him.  He will smile and talk back to them.  I think once he starts talking we won't be able to get him to be quiet.
He loves playing with his toys and has been able to control his hands a lot more the past month. It is so nice he is able to entertain himself a little more.
He loves to be outside and really enjoys going on walks.  He can now put himself to sleep for naps. When we were in Texas he figure out how to do that. (Speaking of Texas I really need to write a post about our trip) It makes nap time so much easier and isn't such a fight.  He usually takes 3 naps during the day.
We love our little boy and the joy he brings to our lives and the lives of those around us.

Needless to say he wasn't too fond of the grass.  We can't wait to see what the next month brings us!

Inch Worm

I guess you can say we have an inch worm on our hands.  Brantley has figured out if he rolls to his belly, burrows his head into the floor, and puts his butt in the air he can can move to objects that aren't in his reach.  I'm just glad he hasn't figured out how to get his arms and legs to work together :) He wasn't too happy with me while I was taking the pictures.  He isn't a huge fan of his belly, but I can't feel too bad about it when he rolls over onto it himself.

He loves this little taggie blanket.

Being on your belly is hard work

Success!
